This is a blog partly about Cosmology, written from Helsinki (where it is cold). Maybe I will also have other things to say...
There seem to be two reasons for writing this:
1) As a scientist, I think I have a duty to explain what I do to the 'general public' - that is, anyone who will listen. Whether or not anyone reads this is not important, because hopefully in writing it I will become better at explaining things, and thus will be better prepared when asked at 4am to explain nuclear fission, for example.
2) I hope to develop a deeper understanding of concepts which can get missed when working a lot with complicated maths / computing. So then I can have better ideas, hopefully, and write more interesting papers!
Now, back to work - but I will write more this week.
